The position of the internship curriculum in the development of historical thinking of students-teachers in the field of history education

Abstract

ABSTRACT Findings: The research findings show that the internship program is of great importance in improving the performance of student teachers in the field of history education, because the correct teaching of history plays an important role in transmitting desirable social values and behaviors; however, teaching this science traditionally focuses on transmitting historical content by the teacher and memorizing facts by the learner. In fact, this historical information accumulated in memory quickly disappears from the mind, and with this procedure, there is no analytical, citational, and macro history. These characteristics do not provide the basis for creating creative teaching; to break out of this pattern, the thinking internship curriculum should be used as an opportunity to innovate in effective teaching methods. Conclusion: Accordingly, the results indicate that student teachers in the field of history education can improve their professional competence in terms of knowledge, attitude, and skills through appropriate internships. And to solve any educational challenges in history lessons in schools, practically and objectively, before becoming teachers, and to develop their capabilities in the field of argumentative and critical thinking in history teaching. .
