Recognizing the role and position of outstanding teachers in the history of Iranian education

Abstract

Background and Objectives: Given that the lack of an "encyclopedia" of the country's outstanding teachers has been ignored by the country's education authorities for many years, this article seeks to recognize the cultural-social status of the outstanding teachers of contemporary Iran. Methods: To achieve this goal, the author felt the need to conduct a documentary-library study. In this regard, he selected 8 personalities from among the outstanding teachers of contemporary Iran, each of whom has been the foundation of a cultural-structural-social transformation in some way. Then, he selected the works of each of them, either directly or second-hand, using a purposeful and theoretical sampling method, and recorded the required information. After collecting information, their actions, activities, roles, and structural concerns were categorized and in the next two stages, a description and final theme were extract. Findings: The results of the categories and descriptions have shown that the outstanding teachers of contemporary Iran have been more in line with strengthening culture and developing public education. Conclusion: According to the findings, it can be said that everyone who has had a concern in Iran has had the concern for culture and education as a priority.
